Many ingredients combine to create a classic restaurant. First and foremost, it takes a grand beginning. A start that conveys a sense of pedigree and of great things to come.
Geoffrey's Malibu certainly has met that standard. Located on the site of the former Holiday House, a resort/hotel/watering hole to the stars for decades, it was designed by world-famous architect Richard Neutra. It opened its doors in 1948, and immediately established itself as the ultimate destination, hosting the gods and goddesses of its day, including Frank Sinatra, Shirley MacLaine, and Lana Turner.
In 1983, Holiday House ended its glorious run when Harvey Baskin, a financier/gourmand/nature lover, purchased it and created what is known today as Geoffrey's Malibu.
As romantic as a restaurant can be, and boasting some of the finest seafood in Los Angeles, including an excellent Sunday brunch, Geoffrey's is a must for anyone seeking a beautiful beachside eating experience.
